We are reaching the end of 2019 and the nights have well and truly drawn in. Our schools have been busy with Christmas parties, discos, delivering cards and putting on some fantastic Christmas plays and nativities. All involved with the Trust wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2020!!

Our schools have been discussing the importance of remembering those who have been lost in conflicts both in past years and in the present day. Poppies were on sale and schools took part in remembrance events and 2 minute silences to pay their respects.

The summer holidays are becoming a distant memory and we welcome all our children and staff back to their schools and extend a very warm welcome to all those who have started at new schools. We hope you are settling in well and finding your feet.

Exams are done, tests are complete, leavers discos have been danced, leavers plays have been performed, sports days competed in and all our children, families and staff deserve a well earned rest. Have a happy and safe summer holiday. We just need the sun to shine now!

This year the art exhibition was held at Trinity Church Rawdon and we had a busy two days. Year 9s at Benton Park produced some amazing drawings.
Guiseley School looked at dance and movement in their work and produced some fantastic work with light.
Rufford Park Primary were inspired by different artists and how we can get joy from nature.
St Oswald’s produced a large display which was set up in the church foyer. This is just part of it.

Yeadon Westfield Infants were one of our schools who held Easter egg and Easter cake decorating competitions. They had some very creative entries and the School Council had a hard time choosing the winners but they selected one winning entry from each class.

After a short week back after the holidays, the Easter weekend has arrived and so has the sunshine. Happy Easter to all our children, families and staff. Enjoy those eggs!

Stuart Andrew, one of our local Members of Parliament was invited to a meeting with members of the Trust at Benton Park School in order to hear concerns over the financial constraints which are being felt by our schools. This issue has frequently been in the news recently and we appreciate his time.

Parents and carers were recently invited to Guiseley School to attend a seminar to help improve their confidence in dealing with internet safety. David Tidman, a Data and Safeguarding Manager from InVentry was invited to share his advice and expertise on how students and parents alike can protect themselves against the negative aspects of the internet and social media, and feel more in control of the data and images that they might share online.
Following the positive feedback from the evening, Guiseley School will look at similar events for parents/carers in the future.
