We have had a wonderful week during our "Out for a Walk" art exhibition which was held as part of the Tales Told Festival of community events at Guiseley Theatre. All 12 of our schools took the theme and worked hard with their children to use their imaginations and produce some wonderful artwork. The children loved seeing their work on display and visitors to the exhibition were very impressed with the range of ideas and work that had been produced.

Schools also attended workshops which we held over the week. These were run by sixth form art students from both Guiseley and Benton Park Schools. They worked with the primary children to make Gelli art prints using leaves which would be found while "Out on a Walk". The children really enjoyed making the prints and the older students did a great job in demonstrating and assisting them to make their work.

Our children also took part in a choir and drama performance of "Going on a Bear Hunt" which again involved the high school students and our primaries. Each school were helped to devise their scene by the high schools, they then worked hard to practice individually and all performed their own scene on the night. The schools joined together to sing songs in between with the band from Benton Park also joining them for some songs. The children performed with imagination and confidence and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
