Giving at Christmas

Guiseley Community Foundation recently held a foodbank collection and were able to collect a large number of donations from Guiseley fans, players and other members of the community. Some of the donations have been distributed by Otley foodbank and Aireborough Children’s Centre. The rest will be made into hampers to distribute during their Healthy Holidays programme before Christmas.

Guiseley School Sixth Form collected a large number of toys and games to donate to the The Yorkshire Children’s Trust, a charity that helps children and their families cope with the emotional and financial strain of many life-changing illnesses. Donations will be used to give children who have to stay in hospital over the Christmas period a Santa’s grotto experience in several hospitals around the Yorkshire area.

We wish you all a happy, safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

Children in Need

For this year’s Children in Need campaign, Guiseley School Sixth Form held a Bake-off. Fifteen cakes were entered and all were to a high standard in both taste and appearance. Following the judging of the competition, a raffle was held for the cakes which raised over £350 for the appeal. Of the 15 cakes available, one student was lucky enough to win two!
