Our schools joined with the nation to pay their respects to those who have given their lives during conflicts by observing 2 minutes silence and reflection. Scaled-back events were held at numerous locations throughout the country.

The October half term holiday is upon us. Hopefully the weather will be kind and those who are able can get outside and enjoy some fresh air and family time as the nights continue to draw in.

After the strangest of terms we have arrived at the welcome summer holidays. So much has had to change within our schools and so much has been missed out on, from face to face lessons to the many events which were planned for those leaving both the primaries and secondary schools. Staff and students however have shown incredible resilience and made the best of our changing world. Hopefully the sun will shine and families can enjoy some very well earned rest and relaxation over the coming weeks, returning to school in September ready for whatever the new term brings. Happy summer holidays to you all.

As you will be aware schools are now shut to the majority of children although staff continue to provide places in accordance with Government guidelines. We hope you are all keeping safe and adapting to new routines. Take care and look after yourselves.

Westfield Juniors have been busy fundraising for The Childrens’ Liver Disease Foundation by taking part in “Big Yellow Friday”. Children were asked to wear something yellow and bring in a donation. They managed to raise over £150. They have also participated in Sport Relief by wearing sporty clothes and again donating to the charity. For World Book Day, they dressed up as adjectives with costumes including sporty, deflated, blue and sleepy.

Another half term draws to a close and we are already halfway through the academic year. Hopefully we get some nice weather over the holiday for some family fun. Enjoy the rest.
