Walk to School Week 2018

From 21st-25th May 2018 it is Walk to School Week and many of our schools are taking part. This annual scheme is run by Living Streets, a charity that promotes walking. In 2017, 400,000 children and their families took part in the challenge. It has been proven that some exercise, especially a walk before school results in children doing better in class as they arrive refreshed, fit and ready to learn. As well as promoting the importance of being active, walking to school also provides an invaluable time to teach the importance of road safety and to help in cutting pollution and congestion.

100% Attendance Competition

The Attendance Competition ran throughout the month of March and thousands of students across the Trust schools managed to achieve 100% attendance so well done to all of them. A certificate was given to each child to mark their achievement and they were all placed into a prize draw to receive one of the many prizes which were kindly donated by local businesses. We hope all the winners were pleased with their prizes and have enjoyed them. Thanks go to the Chevin Hotel and Spa, Councillor Pat Latty, Guiseley Football Club, Bradford City Football Club, Stuart Andrew MP, Murgatroyds, DW Fitness, Bramble Bakehouse, Bellissima, Morrisons – Yeadon and Guiseley, Nuffield Gym, Pizza Hut, Vue cinema, Hollywood Bowl, Oxygen, Jump Arena, Kids Clubhouse, Yazz Hairdressers, Create Café Ilkley, Clip and Climb and Chris Wallbank Hairdressers for their generosity.
